Presentation of the inaugural Canon Oliver Hughes Memorial Cup for the first time on Saturday, November 7th in the centre for excellence, Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo. The cup is for the Connacht minor final and was presented by John Hughes, Canon Oliver’s brother to the captain of the Salthill winning team to Paul Butler. Paul is the son of Mark Butler who was captain of the Hogan Cup winning team of 1984 trained by Oliver Hughes and Joe Long. Salthill defeated Clan na nGael of Roscommon in the final.
