Music at Tuam Cathedral, Easter 2015
The Cathedral Choir in Tuam and their Director Mark Keane are busy in preparation for the Easter Ceremonies again this year. Here are some of the highlights in the programme:
Chrism Mass, Wednesday 1 April 6pm
Stehle Missa Brevis, Plainchant O Redemptor sume carmen, Roberton All in the April evening, Dubois Adoramus te, Christe from The Seven Last Words, and Jenkins Ave verum from Stabat Mater.
Holy Thursday, 2 April 8pm
Decha Mass of Our Lady of Lourdes, Elgar Ave verum, Plainchant Pange lingua and Eucharistic hymns.
Good Friday, 3 April 3pm
Bach Passion Chorale, Handl Ecce quomodo moritur justus, Stainer God so loved the world and passiontide hymns and Taize chants
Easter Vigil/Sunday, 4 April 9pm/5 April 10.30am
Haydn Missa Brevis in F, Mozart Laudate Dominum, Plainchant/Webbe Regina Coeli, Handel I know that my redeemer liveth and the Hallelujah Chorus from Messiah.
