Máméan is an ancient pilgrimage site located in the Maamturk Mountains. It is situated between Leenane and Roundstone parishes. The most convenient way to locate it is to head to Clifden from Maam Cross and before Recess there is a sign to the right. The base of the mountain is about 5 km down that road. It is not a difficult climb taking anything from 30 minutes upwards to ascend, depending on your fitness.
