“Tionóladh an séú cruinniú de chuid Coiste Sapienti i gCnoc Mhuire, Co. Mhaigh Eo, idir 11-14 Meán Fómhair 2012 d’fhonn athbhreithniú a dhéanamh ar an aistriúchán Gaeilge atá molta do Missale Romanum.
I láthair ag an gcruinniú bhí Pilib Ó Buaidhe, Easpag Rath Bhoth, Breandán Ó Ceallaigh, Easpag Achadh Chonaire, an tOllamh Pádraig Ó Riain, Leas-Chathaoirleach, an Dr. Caitríona Ó Dochartaigh, an tAth. Mícheál Ó Loingsigh, An Moinsíneoir James O’Brien, An tUas. Brian Ó Donnchadha, agus an tAth. Joseph Briody, Rúnaí. Bhí an tOllamh Ó Riain mar chathaoirleach ag an gcruinniú mar nach raibh an Cathaoirleach Mícheál Ó Nearaigh, Ard-Easpag Thuama in ann bheith i láthair.
Rinne an Coiste tráchtaireacht ar na Paidreacha a úsáidtear ag tús an Aifrinn agus ar na Paidreacha Buíochais ag deireadh an Aifrinn. Rinneadh athbhreithniú chomh maith ar na hAifrinn do Cóir na Naomh agus ar Preafáidí na nAifreann seo. Scrúdaíodh an t-ábhar a bhí fágtha ó Tráth na Cásca sa Leabhar Aifrinn (3ú Domhnach den Cháisc – Domhnach Cincíse). Anuas air sin, pléadh le Aifrinn na Marbh. Moladh an t-ardchaighdeán a bhí ar an dréachtaistriúchán Gaeilge.
Tionólfar an chéad chruinniú eile den Choiste i gCorcaigh i mí Dheireadh Fómhair.”

“The sixth meeting of the Sapienti Committee for the review of the proposed Irish language translation of the Missale Romanum took place in Knock Co Mayo from 11-14 September 2012.
Present at the meeting were the Most Rev Philip Boyce, Bishop of Raphoe, the Most Rev Brendan Kelly, Bishop of Achonry, Professor Pádraig Ó Riain, Vicechairman, Dr Caitríona Ó Dochartaigh, an tAth Micheal Ó Loingsigh, Monsignor James O’Brien, Mr Brian Ó Donnchadha and Fr Joseph Briody, Secretary. Professor Ó Riain chaired the meeting in the absence of the Most Rev Michael Neary, Archbishop of Tuam and Chairman, who was unable to attend.
The Committee commented on the Prayers of Preparation for Mass and Thanksgiving after Mass. The Proper of Saints, including the Prefaces for these Masses, was reviewed. The remaining Eastertide material from the Missal (3rd Sunday of Easter – Pentecost) was also studied. In addition, time was devoted to Masses for the Dead. The generally high standard of the Draft Irish Translation was once again noted and praised.
The next meeting of the Committee will be held in Cork in October.”
