On Saturday, June 16th the Papal Legate for the Eucharistic Congress, His Emminence, Cardinal Marc Ouellet celebrated Mass at the Basilica of Our Lady’s Shrine, Knock. The Papal Nuncio, His Excellency concelebrated, along with His Grace Archbishop Michael Neary and all the Bishops of the Western Province. The Basilica was full to capacity, about 5,000 people. First Holy Communicants from the Parish of Knock presented the gifts at the offertory.
